Frequent Questions
Why does it make sense to give through the CFC instead of directly to a charity?
Giving through the CFC is the easiest way for federal employees to support local, national, and international charities. CFC makes giving easy because donors can have their gift deducted from their payroll. CFC also reduces administrative overhead costs associated with soliciting and collecting donations. It also provides charitable organizations with a percentage of the undesignated contributions to the campaign.
How is CFC different from United Way?
United Way痴 relationship with CFC is strictly administrative. United Way is contracted by the Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC) to manage the fundraising and administrative functions of CFC. United Way also provides staff support to the CFC effort as part of the contract.
